We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and give you a little background information on how green kidsPLAY! evolved. Allison Myron Allison is a 31 year old local resident, born and raised in East Brunswick. She graduated with a degree in Business in 2006, has achieved certification in web design through NJIT, and has also worked from home part time for the last 10 years in administration. She most recently worked part time for a non profit art foundation, providing adminstrative duties for the Executive Director, in addition to creating a product line, producing their quarterly enewsletter, and assisting in organizing mural projects completed by corporations and donated to local institutions(such as hospitals and nursing homes). She prides herself in her role as loving wife to a self-defined computer geek, and as stay at home mom of their two cuties, Marisa and Matthew, ages 4 & 5 respectively. Having enjoyed attending a weekly playgroup with her own children prior to school age, she is eager to join Patty in providing a safe environment for kids to learn about the world we live in and PLAY!
Patty Crowdell Patty is a 37 year old local resident who grew up in Spotswood. She graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University, with a degree in Psychology and Literature in 2007. She earned her certification in Elementary Education in the State of New Jersey, and has had previous playgroup experience prior to the birth of her third child. She taught in the South Brunswick school district before deciding to stay home to raise her family. She and her husband Jim will be celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary, and are proud parents to Erika, age 7; Jimmy, age 6; and Kathryn, age 3. After discovering how difficult it was to find other new mothers in the area, Patty was very happy to join and later form a playgroup that offered not only early interaction opportunities for her children, in some cases forming friendships that are still going strong today, but also to bond and commiserate with other new mothers, whether they be first- or fourth-time moms. With Allison, Patty looks forward to being able to provide a safe, stimulating environment for our children to explore and learn, as well as to learn together as caregivers how to lay the groundwork to raise environmentally responsible individuals. |

"Developing this program has truly been an eye opener for me. While I have known how important play is to a child, the complexity of the Green movement was new to me. I have been reading, interviewing, and networking vigorously about the state of our environment, where we went wrong, how to make up for the err of our ways. Most importantly, how we need to pass that knowledge on to our own children."
